健脚向コース

ゴーキョとエベレストB.C.

2.Gokyo/Everest Pass Camp Trek

Classic Everest Base Camp Trek -22 Days

The route taken by Sir Edmund Hillari and Tenzing in 1953 to Everest provides the classic trekking experience in the Himalayas, This trip offers the enchanting sights of Lukla trail in the higher Khumbu, and relaxed observation of the diverse flora and fauna in the mid altitude regions on the approach to the Khumbu valley, the famed Everest territory. The final leg of this trek is quite strenuous with a series of ascents and descents, trekking against the ''grain' of the Himalayas. However, these challenges are softened by traditional exquisite tea houses, small hamlets of hardy mountain people and monasteries on the back drop of towering Himalayas, to make it one of the most delightful walks in Nepal.

Day 1 Kathmandu/Jiri 8 driving hrs

Leaving the flush green Kathmandu valley, the Chinese built road takes you along the Sunkosi river and the Swiss built mountain road meanders through terraced hills, forest and criss-cross of hilly villages to Jiri

Day 2 Sibayala 5 walking hrs

We begin the trek along the easy trail for 5 hours up to Sibalaya where we camp.

Day 3 Chyangma 2040m 6 walking hrs

We begin with a steep ascent for 3 hours until Khosoro Bans where we lunch. After lunch we take another hour long steep ascent to the top of the Deaurali pass (2,713m) where there is a very welcome tea house. Here we find the largest installation of prayer walls in Nepal and excellent view of the valley below. Chyangma has 10 stupas indicating that we are now into the highland region marked by Lamaist culture akin to life and customs of the Tilbetan plateau.

Day 4 Sete 2575m 6 walking hrs

We descend steadily to the Likhu Khola, through several small villages inhabited by Magars and Newars. We can see some Langur monkeys on the trail of Kenja where we lunch. From here a major climb to the Lamjura pass (3,529m) and camp at Sete after 3 hrs walk.

Day 5 Junbesi 2675m 6 walking hrs

This day is taken up by a long gradual climb to the pass through fine rhododendron forest. This is a very good day for bird-watching. We enjoy the rest at the Lamjung pass with many cups of tea. Experience the close views of the majestic peaks and forests of pine and rhododendron. When we get Junbesi, we find that this beautiful hamlet is under the protective gaze of Numbur Himal (6,954m), the most important peak for the Sherpas of Solu region.

Day 6 Junbesi Rest & Acclimatization

Beneath the Numbur, "Shorong Yulhha"(God of the Solu), as the Sherpas call the peak, nestles the beautiful monastery of Thupten Choling well worth a visit during the day.

Day 7 Thaksindo Monastery 2934m 6 walking hrs

After climbing steadily up to around Salung ridge, we have our first magnificent views of the Khumbu valley and the peaks of Everest (8,848m), Chamlung (7,319m) and Makalu (8,481m). We lunch at Ringma Khola and climb up to Thaksindo where we camp at the monastery, a superb building. From here we look down to the Dudh Kosi some 1,707m below.

Day 8 Khari Khola 2070m 6 walking hrs

A steep descent will take us to Mani Dingma (2,320m), where we stop for tea and descend down to the river for lunch. We cross the river and move north to Jubing, a Rai village. From here we make a short steep climb over a rocky ridge to Khari Khola and camp.

Day 9 Punyan 2830m 5 walking hrs

It takes the most of the day to climb the Buspa Ridge (3,130m) and reach a tea shop at the top. Then it levels out and we camp, completely surrounded by forest at Punyan.

Day 10 Phakding 2830m 6 walking hrs

We pass along the easy trail through forest and reach a ridge from where we can see Lukla airstrip. The trail descends down to Surkahe (2,340m) and passes below to Chouri Kharka. The field grow various seasonal crops such as corn, potatoes, wheat and cabbage, and the Sherpas around here are generally better off than their kinsmen above Namche. We join trail from Lukla and continue along to cross the Dudh Kosi and camp at Phakding.

Day 11 Namche Bazaar 3444m 5 walking hrs

This makes a beautiful day's walk through magnificent rhododendron, magnolia and fir forests. On the trail, several Sherpa villages provide welcome tea shops and close views of the peaks dramatically brighten the landscape until we finally reach Namche Bazaar after a long pull up a ridge.

Day 12 Namche Bazaar Rest and Acclimatization

Namche is the famous picturesque Sherpa village and we have rest in the afternoon to enjoy walking round the village. The full day is spent here relaxing and exploring the attractions of Sherpa heartland.

Day 15 Dingboche 4360m 5 walking hrs

We walk to Pangboche where we see what is claimed to be the scalp of the Yeti-the ever elusive snowman, and continue to Dingboche.

We ascend a small ridge, contour Dhoughla (4,600m) before ascend the terminal terrain of the Khumbu glacier. The views are astonishing.

Day 18 Lobuje 5 walking hrs
